Embroidered Felt Circle Skirt and Nylon Blouse
1951-53
This quintessential early 1950's felt circle skirt is paired with a semi-sheer pleated blouse. The blouse has a series of tiny box pleats that are contained at the shoulder and at the waist and open out over the bust. The skirt is a full circle that fits closely at the waist and hangs in soft, regular folds. These skirts were very popular as they could be made so easily - the shape is literally a circle with an opening for the waist, and no seams to sew.
