Steps

Introduction
The french dart drape is a basic bodice with one dart running diagonally into the lower side seams from each bustpoint. 1
Drape Neck, Shoulder, Waist

Pin fabric to form along centerline. Trim excess fabric and clip to neckline.

Smooth fabric along waistline and pin at side seam. Clip to waistline.

Pin 1/4" ease at armhole.

Trim fabric around armhole.

Mark muslin at neckline and shoulder tip.5c

Dot neckline and mark pin head at center front.
Create Side Seam

Pin muslin at bustpoint with opposing pins and mark.

Gather fabric for dart towards bottom of side seam, and pin to form with excess away from waistline.

Trace bottom of armplate.

Pencil rub side seam.

Add ½" ease at side seam, tapering to no ease at waist.
Create Dart

Fold dart again with excess toward the waistline. Pin to form.

Trace line again connecting ease and waist.

Pin dart with pins perpendicular to foldline. Pin through 3 layers. Trim excess fabric from side seam.

Unpin dart and crossmark dart legs.
Mark & Finish

Mark muslin at waistline and other important points including dart.
