Tulle Cocktail Dress
Scaasi
Fall 1994
Only a fabric as light and stiff as the nylon netting used in this dress by Arnold Scazzi could create a silhouette as lively as this. Very light fabrics can be gathered tightly to create an enormous volume of fabric that springs from a very small space. What a contrast between the stiff nylon net of the skirt and the soft, draped chiffon of the bodice, both in an identical shade of burgundy! The softly wrapped bodice is gathered to form a sunburst effect that brings the eye to the extravagant bow.
